This policy explains what information Spk2Me collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. Spk2Me lets you build a conversational AI video avatar — trained on your career history — that other people can have a live conversation with instead of reading a static resume.
When you create an account and build your conversational CV, we collect:
[PLACEHOLDER — pending attorney review. Do not treat as final, binding language.] Your training video is used to derive biometric identifiers — specifically your facial geometry/likeness and your voiceprint — which are used to create and operate your AI video avatar. Jurisdictions including Illinois (BIPA), Texas (CUBI), and Washington state, among others, require distinct, informed, written consent before this kind of data is collected, specific disclosure of the purpose and retention period, and a defined destruction schedule.
We collect your biometric identifiers only after you give separate, explicit consent for this specific purpose — via its own dedicated checkbox at signup, distinct from your general acceptance of our Terms and this Policy. We retain your biometric identifiers only as long as your account and avatar are active, and permanently delete them when you delete your account (see "Your rights and choices" below); a final retention schedule for any other case will be published here once finalized. We do not sell, lease, trade, license, or otherwise profit from your biometric identifiers, and we do not disclose them to anyone beyond the service providers strictly necessary to build and operate your avatar (see "Third parties we work with" above).
Important: once your avatar is live, anyone with your profile link can have a conversation with it, and it will draw on the career content you provided to answer their questions. Only share your profile link as broadly as you're comfortable with your career information being discussed.
You can edit or remove your knowledge base content at any time from your account page, and changes take effect on your avatar going forward.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your career content to train any general-purpose AI model outside of building your own avatar.
Building and hosting your avatar requires a small number of service providers, each of whom processes data only as needed to provide their part of the service, under contractual confidentiality and data-protection obligations. We don't publish the specific names of these providers here, since our infrastructure changes over time and we don't want this policy to go stale — but we're happy to share the current list with you on request. The categories of processing involved are:
Your account password is never stored by us directly — authentication is handled by our authentication provider using industry-standard hashing. Data is encrypted at rest at the infrastructure level, and the more sensitive, candid portions of your career content (such as career goals or areas you're looking to grow) receive an additional layer of application-level encryption. All traffic to and from Spk2Me is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable, ongoing steps to protect your information.
From your account page, you can at any time:
If you're located in the EU/UK or California, you have rights under GDPR or CCPA respectively (including access, correction, deletion, and portability) — the tools above are how you exercise most of these directly; for anything else, contact us using the details below.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems, though a brief backup retention window (typically a matter of days) may apply before backups are fully cycled out.
Spk2Me is intended for working professionals and is not directed at, or knowingly used to collect information from, anyone under 18.
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
